Armadillo LCS
9/27/2011 by Administrator
After a couple months of changes we have now got the LCS to
where we are happy with the weight and look. It also has a new name
based on what it resembles. The "Armadillo LCS" is a one-man sub
three pound tent with stakes! It still features the BedNet as the
inner base and then use a shock corded pole to give you a double
wall tent. Which in the south is a must because of all the
humidity. We got rid of the vestibules to save weight and since the
military uses waterproof pack covers now it wasn't neccessary. It
uses the same 70 Denier Ripstop Nylon as the EBNS so you know
it is durable. A cool feature is that you can actually take the
riddgeline pole out and then fold the tent (with the fly still
attached) up like you normally do a BedNet. Even with the fly on
you can still pack it down to 13" x 13" x 3" as seen
below. Another feature is Ventilation straps. As you can see below
if you need extra air movement in the tent you can use the
Ventilation straps to let extra air in. When not needed they store
underneath to keep the elements out. If 3 pounds is somehow to
heavy and you need even less weight you can leave the pole at home
and use some 550 cord or equivalent. Just string the cord between
two trees and then attach the clips on the rope to create the
backbone. The tent goes down to 2.55 lbs if you do that!

Here are a couple shots at our booths at the Infantry WarFighter
and Modern Day Marine 2010 Shows. We had fun at both shows. Saw
some old friends and more importantly made some new ones! We will
be back to both shows next year so please stop by our booth if you
attend either of them. You should be surprised to see a whole new
booth for 2011....We have teamed up with some of our parters and
our new grapic designer to make our presence at the show a little
more noticeable.

Summer Outdoor Retailer 2010 - SLC
8/23/2010 by Administrator
We just got back from Salt Lake City and the Summer Outdoor
Retailer 2010. First we would like to thanks SLC and the fine
people there for all the hospitality we recieved. The food and
sercvice was great everywhere we went. This being my first time to
SLC I was blown away by the beautiful mountain views and how the
shade actually works there. Being from the DEEP south the hunidity
is so high that it feels like nothing changes when you get int he
shade but not in SLC. Anyway just wanted to say we enjoyed it there
and hopefully the contacts we made there will pan out for us.
Special thanks to everyone that came by the booth to chat with us.
Here are a couple photos from the show and SLC:

Hey all! We are glad to annouce we just released the new prices
for the Catoma Outdoor line of tents. Almost all the tactical
tents went down in price. Some two man tents were drastically
reduced like the Commando and Combat tents. All firefighting
tents took a hit as well so now is the best time to get your
LIFETIME warranty tents! If motorcycle tents are our thing then you
better get the 2 Up 2 tent before we change our minds about the
incredible $159 price tag. http://www.catomaoutdoor.com/Pages/Promotions.aspx

SOFEX Jordan 2010
5/04/2010 by Administrator
So the time has come again for one of the coolest tactical shows
in the world. Guess what?! Catoma Outdoor and MMI Outdoor will be
there to represent. For you people that don't know about SOFEX here
is a little background info. Founded in 1996 by His Majesty King
Abdullah II, The Special Operations Forces Exhibition and
Conference (SOFEX) has grown with each edition and has acquired
paramount ranking amongst the specialized global defence
exhibitions and is considered by the international Special
Operations and homeland security decision makers as well as the
specialized industry as the vital gathering for exchanging views
and experiences as well as presenting new and innovative equipment
in order to deliver swift, decisive and effective solutions, that
will help decision makers maintain the security and safety in their
countries, regions and around the world. I tell you its good to be
king! He gets to have his own private day to walk arounf the show.
If by chance you are going to be in Jordan at the show we will be
right next to the USASOC booth so be on the lookout for us. I
believe there will be over 81 countries represented at the show so
there should be quite a assortment of new gear. If you would like
more info on the show please visit: http://www.sofexjordan.com/
Georgia Mountain Rally
5/04/2010 by Administrator
We here at Catoma Outdoor try to get out as much as we can to
trade and specialty shows. This week we will be at the Georgia
Mountain Rally in Hiawassee, GA near the Tennessee and South
Carolina border. This show is but on by the BMW Motorcycle Owners
of America. The show will be held at the Georgia Mountain
Fairgrounds Music Park on April 30 - May 2, 2010. We love coming to
the Motorcycle rallies to connect with the riders so we can show
them our new gear. Most by the way is upgraded thanks to the
suggestions of the riders. We continually transform our tents to
try and give the motorcycle campers the ultimate camping
experience. As you know we have the quick hub setup that will allow
a fully erect tent in less than 60 seconds. This helps the
motorcycle campers setup their campsite in case of an unexpected
storm. At the Mountain rally you will see tons of vendors with the
motorcycle camper/rider gear, lots of great food, and live
bluegrass bands will be playing, and many seminars to further
educate yourself. One great seminar that I am looking forward to is
the one on the finer points of tent camping by Fred Veator. I hope
Fred will come by our booth and take a look at our offerings. We
will be offering discounts on our most popular motorcycle tents so
please come out and see us. The great thing about buying your
motorcycle tent at the rally is you get to use it right away! Here
